Zaporizhzhia City Council
The Zaporizhzhia City Council is the representative body of local self-government for the city of Zaporizhzhia in southeastern Ukraine. Its members are elected by residents and it approves the city budget, decisions on municipal property, land use and infrastructure. The council is chaired by the city mayor. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, part of the council's functions have been exercised by the city's military administration.

Russian glide bombs hit Zaporizhzhia residential buildings, killing at least 17 including children
Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with five guided aerial bombs (KABs) in the early hours of 10 October, partially destroying a residential building and killing at least 17 civilians, including three children. President Zelensky framed the attack as Russia's 'thank-you' for the lifting of US sanctions on Russian diesel exports, announced the day before. A day of mourning was declared for 11 October.
