Cyberattacks disrupt Air Alert app and Russian emergency warning channels with false nuclear and radiation alerts
Ukraine's Air Alert app was hacked and temporarily suspended after sending false warnings about radiation, chemical weapons and street fighting. Shortly afterward, Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a large-scale cyberattack on its app and regional MAX channels, which distributed claims of nuclear launches. There was no radiation emergency in Ukraine, and other warning systems and air-raid sirens continued operating.
