Yalta European Strategy (YES) conference
The Yalta European Strategy (YES) is an annual international conference focused on the future of Ukraine and broader European and global issues. It was founded in 2004 by Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk through the Victor Pinchuk Foundation. Originally held in Yalta, it moved to Kyiv and other European cities after the annexation of Crimea.

Russian drones strike Kyiv–Warsaw train and gas station near Polish border in Volyn
On the morning of September 13, Russian drone strikes hit targets in Volyn Oblast near the Ukrainian-Polish border, including a gas station at the Yahodyn–Dorohusk crossing and the locomotive of the Kyiv–Warsaw passenger train about 2 km from the border. No passengers or railway staff were injured on the train after Ukrzaliznytsia warned the crew in advance. A separate special train carrying Western officials returning from the YES conference in Kyiv, including former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's adviser Günter Sautter, was stopped and briefly evacuated as a precaution.
