Ukraine's Rada adopts education law needed for Hungary to unblock two EU accession clusters
Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada on 12 October adopted draft law No. 16119 on education in the languages of national minorities, satisfying Hungary's condition for opening the second and third negotiating clusters in Ukraine's EU accession talks. The EU's Committee of Permanent Representatives was prepared to approve the bloc's negotiating positions the same day, clearing the way for an intergovernmental conference on 13 October at which clusters 2 ("Internal Market") and 3 ("Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth") were expected to be opened.
