Ceasefire opens humanitarian window in occupied Oleshky as evacuation begins
Ukraine and Russia agreed a temporary local ceasefire covering occupied Oleshky and nearby areas so that humanitarian aid could be delivered and civilians evacuated. The pause began at 03:00 Kyiv time on October 27 and was scheduled to run until 22:59 on November 1. Ukrainian officials said no violations had been recorded during the first 54 hours as demining continued and an aid convoy was being prepared for October 30.
