United States International Development Finance Corporation

The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is an independent U.S. government agency established in 2019 that provides financing and investment support for private-sector projects in developing countries. It was created through the reorganization and expansion of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). The DFC offers loans, guarantees, political-risk insurance and equity investments, and it serves as the principal U.S. instrument for development finance, aligning private capital with American foreign-policy priorities.
