US Armed Forces
The United States Armed Forces are the military forces of the United States, organized into six separate service branches: the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard (the last of which falls under the Department of Homeland Security in peacetime). The President serves as commander-in-chief, with civilian oversight exercised by the Department of Defense under the Secretary of Defense. They are among the largest and most capable militaries in the world by personnel, budget, and equipment.
