More than half of Ukraine's F-16s grounded as Belgian maintenance falls months behind
More than half of Ukraine's F-16 fleet is currently non-combat-ready because phased technical inspections performed by Belgian contractor Sabena Aerospace Engineering are taking far longer than equivalent work in the United States. The bottleneck comes as Russia has sharply escalated such strikes and the F-16 has become Ukraine's most effective tool against the new threat.
