United States Department of State
The United States Department of State is the federal executive department responsible for conducting the foreign policy of the United States. It is led by the Secretary of State. The Department manages diplomatic relations with foreign governments, oversees U.S. embassies and consulates abroad, negotiates on behalf of the United States, and handles passport and visa services for American citizens.
