Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (ERP)
The Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (URPI) is a state-run automated electronic database that records information about criminal proceedings and pre-trial investigations in Ukraine. It is maintained by the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) and was introduced in 2012 with the entry into force of the new Criminal Procedure Code, replacing the previous paper-based system. Registration in the URPI is a mandatory step to start a pre-trial investigation, and its data is used by law enforcement agencies, courts and defense lawyers to verify the legal status of criminal cases.
