UN Monitoring Mission for Human Rights in Ukraine
The UN Monitoring Mission for Human Rights in Ukraine is part of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), established in 2014 to monitor and report on human rights situations in Ukraine in the context of the armed conflict that began with Russia's annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of fighting in the Donbas, and later Russia's full-scale invasion. The mission documents cases of torture, extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detention, and other violations committed by all parties, publishing regular thematic and periodic reports. It is headed by a head of mission appointed by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and is headquartered in Kyiv, with staff deployed across the country.
