Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine
The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine is an investigative body established by the UN Human Rights Council in 2022 in response to Russia's full-scale invasion. It is mandated to investigate all alleged violations of international humanitarian law, international human rights law and international criminal law committed in Ukraine, and to establish the facts, circumstances and root causes of these violations. The Commission is composed of independent experts and reports its findings periodically to the Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly.
