Russia hits Ukrainian energy infrastructure with massive overnight ballistic and drone strike
Russian forces launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine overnight into 14 October, firing 39 ballistic missiles and 128 drones at energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast and Kharkiv. Three people were killed in Kyiv and at least 21 injured, while more than 600,000 people were left without electricity. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky characterised the attack as a deliberate violation of the "energy ceasefire" US President Donald Trump had announced days earlier and called for stronger sanctions and additional Patriot missiles.
