Ukrainian Orthodox Church
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) was a Ukrainian religious organisation under the canonical jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Russian invasion of Ukraine prompted national-security scrutiny of links with the Moscow Patriarchate and waves of clergy and parishes declaring a break with Moscow. In 2023 the organisation voted at a council to fully sever ties with the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Ukrainian authorities moved to ban the Moscow Patriarchate's activities in the country.
