Ukrainian law enforcement

Ukrainian law enforcement refers to the network of state bodies responsible for maintaining public order, investigating crimes and bringing offenders to account. Its main components include the National Police of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Economic Security, the Security Service of Ukraine (in its criminal-justice capacity), the prosecution service and the penitentiary system. Overall coordination in the field of crime prevention is exercised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
