Ukrainian Air Defense Forces
Ukrainian air defence is the system of anti-aircraft forces responsible for detecting, intercepting and destroying aerial threats such as missiles, drones and aircraft. Its expansion and modernisation accelerated sharply following the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, as Ukraine began receiving Western air-defence systems and missiles. Operational command rests with the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the core components are anti-aircraft missile troops and fighter aviation.
