State Emergency Service of Ukraine
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) is the central executive body responsible for responding to emergencies, conducting rescue operations and overseeing fire safety across the country. It operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is led by a Head of Service. Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, the DSNS has been the lead agency clearing the aftermath of airstrikes and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and towns.

Russia strikes Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight, killing two and damaging maternity hospital
Russia launched a massive ballistic missile and drone attack on Kyiv overnight on 23–24 September, killing two civilians and injuring at least eight, with damage to residential buildings, a maternity hospital, and energy and logistics sites. The strike came the day after Ukraine agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire at the UN, which President Zelensky used to press for stronger U.S. sanctions and additional ballistic-missile interceptors.
