State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
Ukraine's State Border Service is the central executive body responsible for guarding the country's state border and controlling the crossing of people, vehicles and goods. It operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and is headed by a director appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers. The agency's statutory framework sets out its tasks of border protection, immigration control and counter-smuggling operations carried out by border detachments along the land and maritime frontiers, including areas affected by the armed conflict.

Shell near Ukraine–Moldova border crossing hits bus, injures Moldovan officer
A shell fell near the Palanka–Maiaky–Udobne border crossing on the Ukraine–Moldova border on 5 October at around 09:38, ricocheted into a parked bus and injured a Moldovan border police officer. The checkpoint was suspended, Moldovan roads toward Palanka were closed at 10:50, and traffic was redirected to the Tudora crossing. Ukrainian and Moldovan authorities linked the incident to a Russian attack on Ukraine.
