Ukraine's Defence Ministry
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is the central executive body responsible for state policy in defence, military development, and the provision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the defence-industrial complex. It is led by a civilian Minister of Defence appointed by the Verkhovna Rada on the nomination of the Prime Minister; the ministry oversees the General Staff of the Armed Forces and subordinate military formations. Its headquarters is in Kyiv. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, it has been the principal Ukrainian counterpart in negotiations over military aid and arms deliveries from Western partners.
