Ukraine–NATO Council
The NATO–Ukraine Council is the joint institutional mechanism that frames relations between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Alliance. It was established in its current form at the Vilnius summit in July 2023, upgrading the earlier NATO–Ukraine Commission created under the 1997 Charter on a Distinctive Partnership. It functions as a platform for political consultation and decision-making between Ukraine and NATO member states, covering security, defence and reform issues.
