Foreign Office
The UK Foreign Office is the informal name for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the United Kingdom's central government department responsible for foreign affairs. It is headed by the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs and was formed in 2020 by merging the Foreign and Commonwealth Office with the Department for International Development. The FCDO conducts the UK's diplomatic relations, runs its network of embassies and consulates, and sets policy on international security, trade, and development.

Germany blames Russia for drone attack on Ukrainian plane at Leipzig airport
A drone carrying 1.8 kg of Semtex struck the wing of a parked Ukrainian An-124 cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport on the night of August 5, failing to detonate. A joint Telegraph/Welt investigation identified Russian biker Oleg Levushkin as the likely organizer, with German investigators suspecting Belarusian agent Andrey Karshakov as the executor. Germany officially accused Russia of the attack on September 1 and announced countermeasures, including the closure of Russia's consulate general in Bonn.
