Several hundred rally demanding Kyiv mayor Klitschko's resignation amid Russian strikes and tensions with central government
On 17 October, several hundred people rallied outside the Kyiv City State Administration on Khreshchatyk demanding the resignation of Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, accusing him of failing to prepare the capital for wartime challenges including shelter provision and alternative power supply. Police estimated around 200 participants; a few counter-protesters appeared in Klitschko's support. The protest came against a backdrop of intensifying Russian drone strikes, public criticism of Kyiv by President Zelensky, and a prosecutors' lawsuit alleging inaction over mobile shelters.
