Bessent blames Ukraine's strikes on Russian oil for global energy shock after meeting Russia's finance minister at G20
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil infrastructure are driving up global fuel prices, naming both the Russia–Ukraine war and the conflict around Iran as causes of an energy shock. US diesel prices were near record levels and Brent crude rose to roughly $97 a barrel.
