Ukraine raises key rate to 16.5% as inflation pressure and economic risks intensify
The National Bank of Ukraine raised its key rate by 0.5 percentage point to 16.5% on October 29, citing stronger price pressure and worsening inflation expectations. The bank raised its 2026 inflation forecast to 12.5% and cut its real GDP forecast to a 0.4% contraction, while linking the economic slowdown to the seaport blockade and Russian attacks on production and logistics.
