Kyiv mayor Klitschko tells parliament capital is ready for winter, accuses central authorities of sabotage
Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko appeared in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on 14 October at the deputies' summons to report on the capital's preparation for the winter. He rejected accusations that Kyiv is poorly prepared, presented figures on energy strikes and on backup power equipment, and criticised the central authorities for what he called constant 'slaps' against the city and the blocking of funds.
