Taganrog Automobile Plant (TagAZ)

The Taganrog Automobile Plant (TagAZ) was a Russian automotive manufacturer based in the city of Taganrog in Rostov Oblast. The plant produced passenger cars, minibuses and buses, including models assembled under licence from foreign makers. It was founded in 1997 on the basis of the Soviet-era Taganrog factory and later expanded by acquiring the assets of the bankrupt British carmaker MG Rover. TagAZ ran into serious financial difficulties in the 2010s and eventually ceased mass production.
