Russian strike on Izmail district border infrastructure halts Orlivka checkpoint for second time in a week
On the night of September 6, Russian forces attacked border infrastructure in the Izmail district of Odesa Oblast, leading the Orlivka international ferry crossing checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Romanian border to temporarily suspend operations. The Izmail District State Administration announced the suspension and said updates on the resumption of work would follow; it did not provide details about the consequences of the strike. The September 6 attack was the second time within roughly a week that a Russian strike forced the checkpoint to halt operations.
