Russian attack again halts Orlivka border crossing on Ukraine-Romania border
Russian forces attacked border infrastructure in the Izmail district of Odesa Oblast overnight on September 6, 2026, forcing the international Orlivka ferry crossing checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Romanian border to temporarily suspend operations. According to the Izmail District State Administration, the checkpoint resumed normal operations the following morning, September 7. This is the second Russian strike on the same crossing point within roughly a week, following a Shahed-drone attack on September 1 that also caused fires and a temporary shutdown.
