Swiss Parliament
The Swiss parliament (Federal Assembly, Bundesversammlung) is the bicameral legislature of Switzerland, composed of the National Council and the Council of States. It enacts federal legislation, oversees the Federal Council (the executive), and holds powers over foreign policy decisions including declarations of war. The two chambers meet jointly as the United Federal Assembly for elections and certain constitutional matters.
