Sumy City Council
The Sumy City Council (Сумська міська рада) is the local government body of Sumy, the administrative centre of Sumy Oblast in northeastern Ukraine. It is headed by the city's mayor, who is directly elected by residents, and operates through an executive committee. The council adopts the municipal budget and decides on matters of infrastructure, communal services and urban development.

Russian guided bombs strike Sumy apartment block, killing two city council employees
Russian forces struck the city of Sumy with guided aerial bombs on the evening of September 18, hitting a residential building in the Kovpakivskyi district. Two employees of the Sumy City Council were killed and several residents, including children, were injured.
