Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO)
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) is a Ukrainian prosecutorial body established in 2015 to provide procedural guidance in criminal investigations conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). It sits under the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, and its head is appointed through a competitive selection process. SAPO is responsible for bringing indictments in high-level corruption cases and other serious offences falling under NABU's jurisdiction.

Prosecutor General fires lawyer Shevchuk from SAPO selection commission
Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko signed an order on September 4, 2026, terminating the powers of lawyer Oleksiy Shevchuk as a member of the competition commission that selects candidates for the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO). The move followed Shevchuk's own September 3 statement of resignation and a September 1 recommendation by five of the commission's six members to revoke him. Kravchenko has asked the Council of Prosecutors to promptly select a replacement, while Shevchuk claims the commission has lost its authority without him — a claim Transparency International Ukraine disputes.
