National Intelligence Service of South Korea
South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) is the country's principal intelligence agency, responsible for foreign intelligence, counterintelligence and the protection of state secrets. It reports directly to the President and serves as the central intelligence body within the national security apparatus. Its responsibilities include monitoring threats from North Korea, countering cyber espionage and coordinating with allies, notably the United States. The agency is headquartered in Seoul.
