Federal Intelligence Service
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz, BfV) is Germany's domestic intelligence agency, tasked with counter-intelligence and safeguarding the constitutional order of the Federal Republic. It operates under the Federal Ministry of the Interior and is one of the country's three principal intelligence services, alongside the BND (foreign intelligence) and the MAD (military counter-intelligence). Its headquarters are in Cologne. The agency's remit includes monitoring extremism, foreign state espionage, and cyber threats.

Western intelligence warns European defense executives of intensified Russian assassination plots
Western intelligence services have warned leaders of European defense companies that Russia is intensifying efforts to assassinate them, according to the Financial Times, citing representatives of five European intelligence services. The campaign is aimed at intimidating companies that supply defense goods, including drones, to Ukraine and at weakening European support for Kyiv. Russia's military intelligence is reportedly working more closely with organised crime groups and distributing tasks across networks to carry out the operations.
