Ukraine's Prosecutor General Kravchenko resigns after anti-corruption searches tied to call-centre 'protection' scheme
Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation on the evening of 7 September, days after NABU and SAPO anti-corruption investigators searched his offices and the Office of the Prosecutor General (OGP) as part of an operation codenamed "Carthage." Investigators say a criminal organisation inside the OGP took bribes from fraudulent call centres and laundered millions in proceeds. Kravchenko has publicly called the allegations "completely unsubstantiated" and described his resignation as a political decision.
