SBU Alpha Special Operations Centre
The SBU Alpha Special Operations Centre is a special-purpose unit of the Security Service of Ukraine focused on counter-terrorism operations, hostage rescues and high-risk captures. It has been involved in sensitive operations both inside Ukraine and abroad, including missions tied to the Russo-Ukrainian war. The unit reports directly to SBU leadership.

Massive Ukrainian drone attack hits Moscow and Moscow Oblast overnight, striking oil refinery and warehouses
On the night of 19–20 September 2026, drones launched a massive attack on Moscow and Moscow Oblast, striking the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya and a large warehouse complex in Sofyino, Ramensky district. Russian officials reported at least two deaths and six injuries, with residential buildings, private houses and apartment blocks hit in multiple districts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the General Staff publicly confirmed the strikes, naming the drone systems used; Russian officials gave varying counts of drones intercepted and Mayor Sobyanin claimed, without evidence, that the attack aimed to disrupt the State Duma elections.
