Russian sovereign wealth fund

A Russian state-owned sovereign wealth fund established in 2008 to manage surplus revenues from oil and gas exports. It is split into two parts: the National Wealth Fund, overseen by the Ministry of Finance, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which makes equity investments in the Russian economy. RDIF has been involved in major infrastructure and technology deals and has pursued partnerships with foreign investors, including in countries facing Western sanctions.
