Russian Caspian Flotilla
The Russian Caspian Flotilla is an operational-tactical formation of the Russian Navy based on the Caspian Sea. Headquartered in Kaspiysk, Dagestan, it comprises small missile ships, gunboats, landing craft and support vessels. Its main role is to maintain Russia's military presence and protect its interests in the Caspian region.

Ukraine's General Staff confirms strikes on Makhachkala port and Russian ships in Novorossiysk
Ukraine's General Staff confirmed that in the night of 10 September, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Makhachkala seaport in Russia's Republic of Dagestan, where a fire was recorded. The General Staff also confirmed strikes on fuel-oil storage facilities in Novorossiysk on 9 September and on at least three Russian naval vessels there, including a minesweeper, a frigate, and a large landing ship.
