Ukraine, US and European partners hold talks in Oslo on ending the war
Ukraine, the United States and European partners met in Oslo on 20 October for talks on ending the war. President Volodymyr Zelensky participated alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, US special envoy Steve Witkoff (in person) and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner (remotely, due to illness), with representatives of the E4 countries, the EU and NATO also present. The sides aimed to develop a peace proposal to be presented to Russia. Witkoff subsequently planned to travel to Russia to meet Vladimir Putin, with Ukraine-related issues and the release of US citizen Stephen Hubbard on the agenda.
