Zelensky says social media 'easier to breathe' after Ukrainian strikes on Yandex data centers
Ukrainian drone strikes on three Yandex data centers in Russia between 8 and 11 October caused a near-total collapse of bot traffic linked to Yandex's network, according to Cloudflare Radar data. Speaking via video link to the Warsaw Security Forum, President Volodymyr Zelensky said it had become "easier to breathe" on many social media platforms because there were fewer bots, less hatred and fewer provocations. American historian Timothy Snyder and a member of the European Parliament pointed to possible links between Russian servers and bots supporting political figures abroad, though both qualified their conclusions.
