Canada and seven European countries moved to prevent Russian teams from participating in the 2027 Ice Hockey World Championship, citing the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling that requires the IIHF to admit them. Ukraine’s sports minister called on partners to exclude Russia but said the Ukrainian team would participate and would not take the ice against Russian players.
