Revolution of Dignity
The Revolution of Dignity (also known as Euromaidan) was a wave of protests in Ukraine from November 2013 to February 2014, triggered by President Viktor Yanukovych's refusal to sign the EU Association Agreement. It began as a student-led peaceful rally on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv but grew into a nationwide movement after a violent police crackdown on 30 November. The peak came in February 2014, when security forces opened fire on protesters and snipers killed dozens on the Instytutska street. Yanukovych fled the country, parliament restored the constitutional order, and Ukraine set a new pro-European course.
