Republican Party
The Republican Party is one of the two major political parties in the United States. It promotes conservative and free-market principles and traditionally polls higher among voters who identify with the Democratic Party's counterpart. The party is a principal obstacle to Democratic legislative initiatives in the U.S. Congress.
