REPowerEU
REPowerEU is a plan of the European Union, presented in 2022 in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It aims to accelerate the EU's phase-out of Russian fossil fuels and strengthen the bloc's energy independence through the expansion of renewables, improved energy efficiency, and diversification of energy supplies. The initiative includes substantial investment in clean energy and cooperation with international partners to ensure stable supplies.

EU figure contradicts Trump’s $250 billion claim on payments to Russia for energy
An EU source told European Pravda that EU countries paid Russia about 197 billion euros (around 209 billion dollars) for fossil fuels from March 2022 to July 2026, undercutting US President Donald Trump’s claim of 250 billion dollars. The figures come as Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky criticised a parallel Trump-Putin understanding to allow Russian diesel fuel exports, calling it “unfair and dishonest.”
