Ukraine, US and European negotiators meet in Oslo to draft peace proposals for Russia
Negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine took place in Oslo on 20 October, bringing together President Volodymyr Zelensky, US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner (who joined remotely because he was ill), Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and representatives of the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Poland, together with EU and NATO officials. According to a US official, the talks were intended to develop a peace proposal to present to Russia, building on discussions held at Witkoff's club near Miami on 9 October. Witkoff was then expected to travel to Russia to meet Vladimir Putin.
