Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union
The Foreign Affairs Council is a configuration of the Council of the European Union that brings together the foreign ministers of the EU member states. It is responsible for the Union's external action, including the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and the EU's restrictive measures (sanctions). Meetings are typically held in Brussels and chaired by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who also serves as Vice-President of the European Commission.
