Ukraine receives new €1.2–1.24 billion EU tranche for Ukrainian-made drones and missiles
Ukraine has received a new tranche of approximately €1.2 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan, announced on 7 October by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky. The European Commission specifies the amount as €1.24 billion. The funds are earmarked for Ukrainian-made drones, drone ammunition, drone interceptors and missiles, bringing total defense financing under the program to nearly €13 billion.

NATO-Ukraine Council holds emergency meeting on air defense amid new Russian aerial tactics
An emergency classified meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council was held at NATO Headquarters on 3 September 2026 to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense against Russia's new aerial terror tactics, including jet-powered Shahed-type drones. Trump claims US has 'virtually unlimited' ammunition stockpiles, demands Europe repay Ukraine and NATO aid
On 3 September, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social asserting that the United States has virtually unlimited stockpiles of medium- and high-class ammunition and is producing at unprecedented volumes. He said the US is currently keeping munitions for itself rather than selling them to allies, but that sales would resume soon. Trump also accused the Biden administration of having given Ukraine more ammunition than the US used in Iran, claimed hundreds of billions of dollars were transferred free of charge to Ukraine and NATO, and said the US will demand reimbursement from Europe, 'albeit with some delay.' The post was directed against media reporting on US ammunition shortages during the Iran operation.
