Polish Air Force
The Polish Air Force (Wojska Lotnicze) is the aerial warfare branch of the Polish Armed Forces, responsible for military aviation within Poland. It comprises fighter, transport and training units, as well as elements of the country's air defence system. Operationally it falls under the General Staff and the Joint Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces. Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Poland intensified its role in patrolling NATO's eastern flank, frequently scrambling aircraft in response to missile attacks on Ukrainian territory.
