Pivdennyi Bridge
The Pivdennyi Bridge (Southern Bridge) is one of the largest bridges over the Dnieper River in Kyiv, opened in 1990. It connects the city's left-bank districts with the central right-bank part of Kyiv. The bridge carries vehicular traffic as part of a major transport artery across the capital.

Russian drone strikes Kyiv nuclear research institute, no damage to reactor
A Russian drone struck the grounds of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv on the evening of 30 September 2026. The reactor and safety-critical equipment were unaffected; no casualties were recorded and the fire was quickly put out. Ukraine's nuclear regulator characterised the strike as an attack on a peaceful nuclear installation and as a war crime.
