GRU Unit 29155
Unit 29155 is a covert unit of Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) tasked with foreign operations including sabotage, subversion and assassinations on European soil. It became widely known after the 2018 poisoning of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal in Salisbury, and several European governments have linked it to a series of sabotage incidents, including damage to infrastructure and arms shipments. The unit operates outside Russia, often using personnel placed under diplomatic, business or civilian cover, and is distinct from the better-known GRU cyber units 26165 and 74455.

Germany blames Russia for drone attack on Ukrainian plane at Leipzig airport
A drone carrying 1.8 kg of Semtex struck the wing of a parked Ukrainian An-124 cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport on the night of August 5, failing to detonate. A joint Telegraph/Welt investigation identified Russian biker Oleg Levushkin as the likely organizer, with German investigators suspecting Belarusian agent Andrey Karshakov as the executor. Germany officially accused Russia of the attack on September 1 and announced countermeasures, including the closure of Russia's consulate general in Bonn.
