Paton Bridge
The Paton Bridge (Pivdennyi Bridge) is a cable-stayed road bridge across the Dnieper River in Kyiv, opened in 1953. It was designed by the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute and named after the institute's long-time director, academician Borys Paton. It carries traffic between the city's left and right banks and forms part of Kyiv's Big Ring Road.

Russian drone strikes hit the Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge in Kyiv in the early hours of October 2, part of a series of strikes on the bridge over the previous 24 hours. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said the overnight hit occurred around 5:00 a.m. and was at least the fourth drone strike on the bridge in the last 24 hours. Several bridges across Kyiv were shut off the highway, and bus services were rerouted.
